Privacy Policy
LL Player (Lingo Local Player) is provided by Daniel Wu (“we”, “us”). We built this player on one decision: we do not collect your personal information. This policy explains what the app keeps on your device, why it needs certain permissions, and how you stay in control.
In short
No account. We collect and upload no personal information.
Your imported audio and library stay on your device. We can’t access them.
No analytics, advertising or crash-reporting SDKs; the app sends nothing to outside servers.
Wi-Fi transfer stays on your local network and runs only while the Transfer screen is open.
Scope
This policy covers the LL Player apps for iOS, iPadOS and Android, and the LL Player pages of this website. These pages set no cookies and load no analytics or advertising scripts.
Information we collect
We collect no personal information. LL Player has no account sign-up or login. It does not read device identifiers, contacts, location, photos, the microphone or the camera, and it contains no third-party SDKs for analytics, advertising or crash reporting. The app sends no data to our servers or anyone else’s.
Data kept on your device
To play and organize your music, the app keeps the following in its storage on your device. It stays on your device; it is never sent to us and we cannot see it:
- copies of the audio files you import;
- information read from those files: title, artist, album, duration, embedded artwork, and readable tags such as genre, year, lyrics, track number and bit rate;
- your library: favorites, playlists, edited song details and recently played songs;
- recent searches (up to 20) and your language setting.
If you turn on system backups (such as iCloud Backup or Android backup), your device may include app data in them. Backups are managed by your device and account, under that provider’s privacy policy.
Permissions
| Permission | Platform | Purpose | When |
|---|---|---|---|
| Local network | iOS / iPadOS | Receive audio uploaded from other devices on your local network during Wi-Fi transfer | When you start Wi-Fi transfer; can be turned off in Settings |
| Background audio | iOS / iPadOS | Keep playing after you switch apps or lock the screen, with system media controls | During playback |
| Network access | Android | Run the Wi-Fi transfer service on your local network. The app contacts no server on the internet | When you start Wi-Fi transfer |
| Foreground service (media playback), wake lock | Android | Keep playing in the background and show playback controls in the notification | During playback |
| File access | All | Import audio through the system file picker. The app can read only the files you choose | When you import |
Wi-Fi transfer
When you start Wi-Fi transfer on the Transfer screen, the app runs a temporary web service on your device that is reachable only on your local network. For convenience the page has no password: while transfer is on, any device on the same network that knows the address can open the page and upload audio.
The service stops as soon as you leave the Transfer screen or the app goes to the background. Transfers use HTTP within your local network; they never cross the internet or pass through our servers. Only start a transfer on a network you trust, such as your home or office network.
Third-party components and services
Because we collect nothing, we share, transfer or disclose nothing to third parties. The app uses the following open-source components to work on your device; none of them collect or upload information:
| Component | Purpose |
|---|---|
| just_audio | Audio decoding and playback |
| audio_service, audio_session | Background playback and system media controls |
| file_picker | Opening the system file picker |
| audio_metadata_reader | Reading tags and embedded artwork |
| path_provider, package_info_plus | Locating local storage, showing the version |
| crypto, uuid | Duplicate detection and local record IDs |
Downloads and updates are provided by the App Store, Google Play or other app stores, which handle your account and download information under their own privacy policies. Features such as system media controls and the file picker are provided by your device’s operating system.
Children
LL Player is intended for a general audience. Because the app collects no personal information from anyone, it collects none from children, including those under 14 or under 13. Minors should use the app with guidance from a parent or guardian.
Retention and deletion
On-device data stays until you delete it. You can delete songs and playlists and clear recent searches in the app; uninstalling the app removes everything it stored. Deleting a song in the app does not affect the original file you imported from.
Your rights
Your data is entirely on your own device, where you can view, change or delete it at any time. We hold no personal information about you, so there is nothing to request from us for access, correction, deletion or account closure. You are always welcome to contact us with questions about this policy.
Security
App data is stored in the isolated storage your operating system gives each app and is protected by your device’s own security. We recommend using a screen lock and keeping your system up to date.
Changes to this policy
If the way the app handles data changes — for example, a new feature that uses the internet — we will update this policy before the release and note the date on this page. Significant changes will be highlighted in the app or on this page.
